The BLS degree is a 120-credit degree. This translates to 40 3-credit courses. All courses are 3 credits.‎

The successful applicant for the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies degree completion program will typically have completed some course work at a postsecondary institution or have professional, military, or life experience prior to applying to the program.

International students must submit one of the following English language proficiency exams: TOEFL or IELTS. ‎

Work experience is not a requirement.‎

To apply, applicants need to submit unofficial transcripts from all institutions where any credit was earned. To matriculate, students will need to submit official transcripts from all institutions where any credit was earned. Official transcript(s) must be sent to the Georgetown SCS Admissions Office.

Unofficial transcripts from all previously attended institutions must be submitted when applying. Unofficial transcripts can be uploaded directly into the application prior to submission.

Once applicants are admitted and have enrolled, an official transcript is required from all institutions where any credit was earned. The official transcript(s) must be sent to the Georgetown SCS Admissions Office prior to matriculation. Transcripts must either be sent in an envelope sealed by the school's registrar, or via an official online transcript provider to scsadmissions@georgetown.edu.

If your transcript is sent to another school at Georgetown University by mistake, you will need to reorder the transcript and have it sent to the School of Continuing Studies.

Applicants who attended institutions outside of the US must submit an official WES, ECE, or SpanTran course-by-course evaluation instead of transcripts in order to be reviewed for admissions.‎

Applicants can check the status of their application by logging back into the application portal.‎

All applicants, regardless of citizenship, whose first language is not English are required to complete one of the following English proficiency examinations:

• TOEFL: Recommended score of 100 (iBT), 600 (paper-based test), or 250 (computer-based test)
• TOEFL iBT MyBest™ scores are accepted for admission to undergraduate and graduate programs.
• IELTS: Recommended score of 7.0

The English proficiency requirement can be waived if applicants attended an English speaking institution.
