<p><span>Lois Meyer is Senior Research Fellow, Postgraduate Learning and Teaching within the School of Public Health and Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine.&nbsp; Lois teaches in the Master of Health Management and is co-convenor of Health Leadership and Workforce Management course that she has taught for the last six years.&nbsp; Lois has a passion for and research focus on health leadership capacity and workforce development in local and international contexts. Her background is in health professional educational and workplace learning and prior to joining SPHCM conducted a range of consultancy projects in management and workforce development including the development of national learning resources for the Frontline Management Initiative; consultancy to the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at UNSW and the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) as well as NSW Health, NSW Nurses Association and Ernst and Young - Asia Pacific Region.&nbsp; Since becoming an academic within the SPHCM Lois has undertaken a range of projects in health leadership capacity building in the Asia Pacific region including developing and facilitating a leadership development program for senior executive in the Solomon Islands Ministry of Health and providing curriculum support to the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) in the Ministry of Health in Cambodia.&nbsp; In 2008 Lois became a Principal Investigator for the AusAID funded HRH Knowledge Hub within the School working on strategies for enhancing leadership and management capacity in health service contexts in the Asia Pacific region. &nbsp;Lois is about to submit her PhD in the area of public health workforce development and leadership within the Australian context and will continue to pursue research on the area of health leadership and workforce development that spans health sector settings.</span></p>
