Bio

Sarah Lydic is an Instructional Designer and Multimedia Developer with University of Virginia’s Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL). Her interests lie at the intersection of Adult & Community Education, online learning, and design, and she is driven by the questions, “How do adults best learn?” and “What makes learning transformational?” Sarah holds degrees in Adult and Community Education, Studio Art, and English and previously worked in the textbook industry. She has developed learning materials for Pearson Education, Pennsylvania’s Department of Education, and the Effective Classroom Interactions course. She is particularly interested in creating online spaces that foster communities of practice, democratize education, and provide opportunities for learners to increase their technological literacy.
