Byung-Ho Lee

Bio

Byung-Ho Lee holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Michigan and is a post-doctoral Visiting Scholar at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. As a comparative-historical sociologist, his research focuses on ethnicity, nationalism, revolution within the context of the empire-to-nation transformation. He is finishing a book manuscript tentatively entitled, ‘Forging the Imperial Nation: Imperialism, Nationalism, and Ethnic Boundaries in China’s Longue Durée.’ He has received numerous fellowships and awards from the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation, China Scholarship Council, Center for Chinese Studies and Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies at the University of Michigan.
