All right.
Well, now we're going to have you watch two clips of me orienting a student.
After you take a look at these two clips, take a moment, jot down what you think it
went well, what you think I could've done a little bit better on.
And then we'll come back together and debrief them a little bit.

>> [SOUND] Hi, I'm Kristy.
I'm one of the third year medical students.
Am I in the right place for adolescent clinic today?
>> Yeah, this is adolescent clinic and we've kind of already gotten started and
running a little bit behind.
You know, the collection projector never tells me anything.
Just, hang on, hang on.
We're going to get you started right away.
I didn't really know you were coming.
Ive got patients in room ten, I've got patients in room 11.
I was starting to look at room 10 now, so why don't you just go ahead and
see room 11 Karyn.
How long have you been on >> A couple weeks.
>> Okay, a couple weeks is great.
You kind of know what to do, what to ask, how to do things.
So just go on in there.
You'll come back out, tell me what you learned.
If I'm in another room, that's fine.
Just wait til I come out.
I'll see you later.
Just, I, we need to get things rolling.
OK, we gotta get things rolling.
[SOUND].
>> OK. >> All right, well hopefully you
didn't think that, that was the example of a good orientation.
So why don't we take a moment and
pause, and have you enter the things that went poorly, and what you
would have done differently to make that a better orientation for your learner.
