About the Course

This is a self-paced lab that takes place in the Google Cloud console. In this lab you will learn how to perform basic networking tasks on Google Cloud Platform by setting up a network and 3 subnetworks; and how GCP might differ from an on-premises setup....

I'm only happy that with my efforts I still got the certificate for completion, but I technically didn't fully finish the Lab.

Be warned, This course IS NOT video guided. It's fully based on reading the instructions. Also be aware, unless you are familiar with the cloud platform already, you might find it difficult to progress within the time it gives you to complete the lab (1hr 15min). The time I wasted trying to get acquainted with the cloud platform with the poor instructional guidance of WHERE the buttons are located was atrocious. I didn't even get to finish the entire lab because it's timed and not knowing where things were specifically to progress without feeling stumped at times. I got to step 7 of 9 and because it didn't elaborate enough on some information it really became stressful racing against the clock unable to figure out how to progress. The timer REALLY SHOULD be extended to at least 1hr 45 min. Even if it was 1hr 30 min, I probably would have finished the entire Lab. The other problem is, the lab can be done 2 ways , using the GUI, or using the CLI which is at the bottom. So you pretty much have to pick one way, finish the lab, and THEN redo the lab AGAIN to do it the other way. Honestly, it makes no sense of why they didn't SPLIT it into 2 separate courses to make the instructions less confusing. It also mentions, you're only allowed to use the Lab 3 times total (...seriously).

I'm so annoyed by the timer being only 1hr and 15 minutes while having to rely on crappy mixed method instructions and NO VIDEOS to help with progressing instead of being stuck feeling stumped wasting 10-15 minutes trying to figure out where buttons are that they want you to click.

I really hate this course, I will gladly take the Certificate just for my stress of effort and finishing most of the Lab tasks, but I will seek other resources if I can find something similar to this. I will not even attempt to do it all over AGAIN using the GUI and then AGAIN using the CLI.

I honestly feel it should be removed from Coursera. I feel cheated with time I wasted trying to learn without feeling rushed with poor instructions and no help when getting stumped during the course.

Disappointing....
