Greetings to all. In today's class, we are going to learn the basics of how to draw lines, use the axis, draw surfaces and create objects with volume. Here, we will use a line tool and some other basic functions that will be used in the rest of our module. So now, let's get started with Magic Cube Module. Every time we exhibit SketchUp, we can see there appear a popup window that allows us to set up a proper template we want. Here, we choose the meter template. First, we select the line tool, then we choose a star point and click the left mouse button on this point. If we will hover the mouse parallel to the green axis, then the line we are drawing will turn green. The same happens with the red and blue axis. Just if, we try to hover the mouse parallel to them. This help us to model more precisely and we think you will find it very helpful while modeling. Moreover, when we drag our mouse a bit far from our starting point, we can see a small box showing the dimension of the line. We are currently drawing at the right bottom corner of the SketchUp window. We can also give this measurement box an input number and our line will acquire the size of our input. Once the lines has the length we need and to join the lines, we just click the left mouse button again or we can also hit the Enter button on the keyboard. Also, there are other important functions we should know. Now we drag the mouse along the line, we can see there is a blue dot appear in the middle of the line; this is also very handy helpful provided by SketchUp. Furthermore, if we click and hold down our middle mouse button while moving it, we will be able to see how our points of view moves around our drawing. Now, we are going to use the tips we have just learned to create a cube with a length of 10 meters for each side. First, we draw a 10 meters line parallel to the red axis. Here, we need to be aware that we are using the meter template. We can set other templates when SketchUp has been installed from the very beginning, or by going to windows tab, then clicking the preference option and then template. Next, we draw a 10 meters line parallel to the green axis. Here, we are going to learn a new function which is called following. We start dragging the mouse to the reference point. Slowly, we hover this point along the direction parallel to the green axis and by doing this, we would get follow points, which is not only the end points of third side of the square, but also the vertex of the square that we are forming on the red-green plane. So now, we have a 10 by 10 square meters square. To form a cube, now we draw a line parallel to the blue axis of which the length is 10 meters too. We repeat the both steps to form other faces of the cube and we get a 10 by 10 by 10 cubic meters cube. Notice the following functions, this is one of very important skills. Also, we shouldn't forget that we can get whatever angle of view we want through holding down the middle mouse button. Today, we learned to use the line tool. This tool is fundamental and straightforward to use. We also know how to draw up just with volume, but we will learn other ways to do this later. Let's stop learning for now. Goodbye.
