I send out a greeting to my brothers and sisters from here in New Mexico and all over the world. I'd like to show you a little bit about my tradition. My tradition in Mexico, and for us it's very important to be interacting with all of the elements from the four wind directions. These represent the four wind directions. It also represents our heart here. What I am doing is I am planting my own heartbeat, the heartbeat of the earth, the heartbeat of the universe. Here I am representing the four directions. The direction of the east which is called [inaudible]. The direction of the west, [inaudible] which has to do with woman, and this direction has to do with light and wisdom. The direction of [inaudible] which is the direction of the elders, that of change, of rest, of death, of transcendence. The direction of the south [inaudible] which has to do with the force of warriors and of willpower and it also has to do with water. The direction of the universe, of the cosmos of [inaudible] The other direction which is of the earth, Mother Earth. The seventh direction is of us, of our hearts. This heart, which is the heart of the earth, which is the heart of all races of all of my brothers and sisters. That is the way it is. At this moment, I would like to offer a prayer for all of you before giving an explanation of the plants. This is the water, this the strength of willpower. Today, I would like to offer a prayer and a blessing for all of my brothers and sisters. All of those who are suffering, who are in need, who are in economic need, or for lack of love. For all of the suffering that humanity has created today. These days I've seen a great suffering that my Mexican brothers and sisters who've come here to [inaudible] and they've really made me think. What are we searching? What are we looking for in the cities and urban areas? I saw my brothers and sisters in such poverty, but poverty of the spirit. Because poverty isn't just monetary or economic sense. I saw the poverty of their spirits. I saw their loneliness, their lack of protection. For all of them and for all those who are in those situations, when we're in our own land or habitat, we're fine. We plant, we eat what we plant. We're full of love, we're close to our families, and we have lots of tenderness. We're rich, rich in what our earth gives us. Yesterday my heart was tight. I felt it tighten because of the poverty in which they find themselves. That made me think and that leads me to offer a prayer for them. I pray to the spirits of these lands, to great spirit. I pray to the spirit of my land, and to those far away places. [FOREIGN] What I'm placing here into this Poposchomi. This Poposchomi, this incense burner, symbolizes the woman's womb. The smoke is the umbilical cord that connects us to the uterus, with the cosmos. Universe, humanity, and Earth. This is what connects me with myself [inaudible] is within me. Man is within me, woman is within me, light and darkness are within me. Cold and sadness, maybe even death are within me. Warmth and joy. Balance, the center of my heart. We do our ceremonies and our prayers with the Poposchomi. We do healings with it, and we do what is called the spiritual cleansing, a harmonization of a space. We offer prayers and we send blessings to the homes, asking that they be blessed, and we ask for blessings we say, "Blessed may be the hearts of all those who live here." This is the way that we do the linking. I'm going to ask this young woman to please to accompany me. What we do, we place ourselves in the directions. We face the person to where the sun is coming up. What we do is a harmonization. A harmonization with their own inner being, with their own spirit. What we do is we move with the four directions that are represented. We represent with the movement here. Now, we all in which translates to four movements. We do an energetic cleansing that moves emotions. We can also work with moving physical things like illnesses, the spiritual apart, everything that has to do with the being. When people become sick, there's a separation from their spirit, their soul, with their physical being and that is what we do, is to bring together and unite once again their being, so that they might have balance. I'm going to ask you to please close your eyes. I'm putting in resin from a tree which is called white copal. Its resins and it's aroma help us to harmonize. Harmonize ourselves with our emotions, with our anger, with our sadness. It relates to each emotional state. What we do, we work in this way, this is representing her spirit. We greet her spirit and all [inaudible] as well. We're making the connection between the Universe, the humankind, and the Earth. We come down and we make a movement into four directions. Metztli, the half-moon. The circle. [inaudible] Which is a sacred circle of healing. [inaudible] We smudge. [inaudible] their heart. [inaudible] We make the [inaudible] in the four directions movement. [inaudible] We're opening energy. [inaudible] That's been closed. [inaudible] We once again greet them, and we come down in the four directions. [inaudible] The moon, great. [inaudible]. [inaudible] We close. [inaudible] We smudge their being, and here we call this a being that is today called the soul. [inaudible] Also here. [inaudible] Here at the nape of the neck we locate this, and also in this area. [inaudible] Here's when we realize if someone is sick or not. [inaudible] If someone has had a fright, or if they're sick, this part is [inaudible] [inaudible] These [inaudible] have to do with all illnesses because they're all related. [inaudible] Depending on what the person needs. [inaudible] [inaudible] Depending on the [inaudible] whatever they need. [inaudible] If the person needs something that is stronger, then we will do a different healing treatment. [inaudible] A healing treatment. [inaudible] That has to do with going into a trance. [inaudible] This is a state of being [inaudible] Awake and asleep at the same. [inaudible] It's a trance. [inaudible] In which we [inaudible]. [inaudible] We ask them, we take them. [inaudible] To a place of. [inaudible] Freedom with the spiritual level. [inaudible] What ties us up is in the physical part. [inaudible] Remember that in the spiritual level we're free. We can go wherever we want. [inaudible] We can be with ourselves. [inaudible] How are you? [inaudible] How do you feel? [inaudible] Thank you. [inaudible] You can see her body vibrates. [inaudible] It's a vibration. [inaudible] It's a state. [inaudible] It's not easy to attain in the physical state. [inaudible] I give thanks. [inaudible] For allowing you to show [inaudible] [inaudible] We're so pleased and thankful and blessed. Sheryl, thank you so much. [inaudible] We want to thank [inaudible] a wonderful healer. Sheryl, thank you so much, and Elena, we appreciate wonderful interpretation. Again, let me thank all of you, and especially [inaudible] again for a wonderful demonstration. Thank you.
