Hi.
Welcome to week three.
This is Dr Gutter at you.
By the end of this week we're gonna be talking about understanding
the progressive tax system that we have here in the US and
things like the marginal tax rate.
We're gonna learn a little bit about the process for calculating and
determining the amount of money that we owe for taxes.
And then thinking about how we avoid giving too much of our money to taxes.
Certainly want to pay our fair share.
But we certainly wanna make sure we're only paying our fair share of taxes too.
So we've got some interesting conversations that I'll be leading,
a lecture we've got.
We've got a link to the IRS's link and learn site for
those of you who want to learn more about being a volunteer tax preparer.
Of course we've got a quiz to take.
And we have an activity that will let you focus on learning more about taxes and
trying to apply them to a sample case study that we have.
Now lastly, our discussion post asked you to go and visit the IRS website, and
try and learn something that you didn't already know before.
However, for some of you,
it might be more interesting if you're not from the United States to think of your
own country of origin.
So for example, we provided some links that you might want to think about.
We've got them for China, for India, and of course the Russian Federation.
So feel free to take a look at some of those other sites too.
And talk about, what did you learn that was interesting about the tax system in
your own country?
So looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say, as always.
And I'll be getting back in touch with you soon.
Have a great week.
