So, logistics are companies that move products from one place to another. Deloitte is a brand under which thousands of these independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit and insurance consulting risk and financial advisory risk management, tax and related services to clients, and they published a PDF on impact of Internet of things to shipping. Many business sectors are struggling with how to adapt data-driven business operations and however, the transportation and logistics sectors are way ahead and this probably comes as no surprise because we've seen in the markets report. They're expecting revenue to grow in 2022 to 250, it was $54, $57 billion. So, they've been on this for a long time and they've seen them seeing the benefits of it and they're charging ahead. So, they were quick to discover the benefits of new sensors and connection technologies. One of the points of this article is to find what business problems IIoT might solve, wanted to take away. Another was envisioning how IIoT creates value, and think about the Michelin tire case. They created additional, they were able to create additional value. They pointed out, there's a nice chart that I liked, so I included it from the article here, understanding the information value we loop leads to understanding, where to play, and how to win in a market segment. I'll talk about this. Maybe you need to study this a little bit, but I'll I'll talk to it as best I can. So, things in this color value drivers, these are the stages and in this gray light font are the technologies. So, the value drivers have scope, scale, and frequency, security, reliability, and accuracy. These are risk factors, time, latency, and timeliness. How long does it take and does the information get to where it needs to go? Remember earlier in the semester, I talked about the notion of if you're working for an IIoT company and you're providing services to your customers, it is important, if you want to be successful, to be the most valuable supplier of information. Supplier of information can lead to good revenue for your company. So, in their analysis, they said, everything starts with some kind of action, something moving in the world, it's manalog phenomenon that their guy from HP that we saw in the video was talking about, say analog worldview sensors to sense it, some kind of an activity takes place. An activity is measured by sensors, it creates a bunch of data. In step two, we use networking technology to communicate that, in step three, and then subsequently using standards to aggregate it all together and store it some place, and we use augmented intelligence. This is machine learning and data analytics to analyze all that data that we've extracted. We've extracted good data features, we've fixed it, we've repaired it, and we got smart data, now we can analyze it, and we can create augmented behavior that then goes back into new and updated actions and activities. So, this is how they look at it, and I really liked this notion and I wanted to share it with you guys.
