Number three, you should always be kind.
Make sure you're giving constructive criticism, and
never be mean or tear the other person down.
Remember the feedback that you give should be some that you
would like to receive yourself.
You will also be receiving feedback from your colleagues about your productions,
and there are three important things to remember when receiving feedback
about your work.
Number one, be open.
You never know what someone else could offer you in terms of feedback that might
totally transform your mix.
But if you're stuck in one way of thinking, or one way that you think your
production should be, you might not be able to bring it to the next level.
Number two, be curious, and this goes hand in hand with being open.
When someone gives you feedback, read it and really take it to heart, and
experiment on whether it does something for your mix and makes it even better.
Number three, be non-defensive.
Don't take it personally if someone has something negative to say
about your mix or a suggestion that you might not like.
Remember, you don't have to take all feedback, but
be open to whatever does come at you.
So remember, when giving feedback, be specific, be helpful, and be kind.
And when receiving feedback, be open, be curious, and non-defensive.
